KIM SANDERS & FRIENDS CD LAUNCH
Kim Sanders & Friends CD Bent Grooves has at last been released and will be launched at the Sound Lounge on May 8.
The album features serene Sufi meditations, berserk Balkan Gypsy rhythms, bent African grooves and magical collective improvisation.
Kim has just returned from three months in Istanbul where he studied with ney master Ahmet Kaya and Gypsy clarinettist Selim Sesler (the man The Guardian called "the Coltrane of the clarinet"). He also performed with percussionist Okay Temiz, Laz singer Birol Topaloglu and with the Istanbul State Modern Folk Music Ensemble.
The concert will be recorded by ABC Radio National for Music Deli
